Who we are

It all started with a tweet. Three Black women came together to raise money to rescue Black lives, especially students, who were being discriminated against while trying to flee a war torn Ukraine.

What started as three strangers taking action in the face of a crisis, turned into a movement of several volunteers raising and disbursing funds, teaming up with partners on ground and globally, and providing resources and support Black people as they fled Ukraine and attempted to relocate and rebuild their lives.

Thank you for Saving Black Lives

A year ago, a few Black women came together to save Black lives fleeing Ukraine. But we couldn’t have done it without you.

As we reflected on what we did last year, we wanted to give you the big picture of exactly what you made happen. Through your support, your donations, your shares, your likes and your voice, you helped us raise almost £330,000 to help over 2200 Black people flee a war torn Ukraine.

We’ve attached an one year update report that summarizes exactly what we accomplished in numbers, some highlights from our campaigns, and a look at some of our partnerships and key deliverables. We hope you’ll take the time to review it and appreciate what you contributed to this movement.
